Merchant Programs, in Google Search Results, with Skimlinks
Posted 2 years ago by Debbie Gainsford

We’ve made a big change to the Skimlinks Editor Toolbar and we are excited to let you know about it.
Publishers can now see if a merchant has an affiliate program with Skimlinks directly in their Google search results.
That’s right, Publishers who have the Editor Toolbar installed and use Chrome as their browser, no longer need to click through to the merchant’s site to see if they have an affiliate program.
This works when you are searching for a merchant by name, category or even specific products.
What you’ll see in your Google search results
Where the merchant has an affiliate program in the country where you are based, you’ll see the blue Skimlinks logo next to the search result.
For example: You are based in the US and the merchant program is available in the US, a blue Skimlinks logo will appear.
Where the merchant has an affiliate program outside of the country where you are based, you’ll see a grey Skimlinks logo next to the search results. You can then click on the logo and it will load the merchant profile page for more information.
For example: You are based in the US but the merchant program is only available in the UK and Germany, a grey Skimlinks logo and icon will appear in your Google search results
One of the key asks we hear from Publishers is “how can we easily discover new merchants to write about or see if a merchant has an affiliate program?” And this is why we are so thrilled to make it quick and easy for Publishers to do this without having to search endless websites.
