Product Bought Report: What Are Readers Buying?
Posted 7 years ago by Skimlinks
Publishers want to understand their performance, so they can optimize their content monetization strategy – and we want to help.
That’s why we constantly explore and investigate the information we can offer about the affiliate links Publishers add to their commerce content, in order to provide granular insights into their performance.
Wondering which products are driving the most revenue? Our Product Bought Report surfaces information about the products readers have actually bought after clicking through from commerce content.
That means Publishers can see:
- The specific products people are buying
- What quantity the products are bought in and which merchant they’re bought from
- And, where a reader clicks on a link to a product, but goes on to buy a different product on that retailer’s website too.
The Report is accessible in two ways – as a standalone report or via an API. With both formats, Publishers can see detailed product sale information, and because the data is refreshed daily, Publishers can be sure they have access to their audience’s latest buying trends.
The data includes:
- Product name
- Merchant
- SKU (a unique identifier number specific to the merchant’s website that allows someone to look up a specific product on the merchant site)
- Quantity
- Total order value
- Revenue earned
With the Report, we’re helping Publishers to better understand which products and merchants are most popular among their readers, optimize their content monetization strategy, and create even better commerce content for their audience.
Publishers can access the Product Bought Report via the Publisher Hub here or via API – learn more about the API in this blog post.
