    Articles:

    Alicia Navarro

    Co-founder & CEO

CEO Alicia Navarro became an entrepreneur at an early age, with several ventures under her belt before Skimlinks. Alicia studied technology, earning the university medal for Computing Sciences at the University of Technology in Sydney, Australia. She worked for over 10 years in internet applications, designing and launching mobile and internet-based applications in Australia and the UK, where she eventually launched Skimbit and then Skimlinks. She now splits her time between London and San Francisco.

Alicia's vision for Skimlinks is to see online publishers rewarded for the role they play in informing purchase decisions, by removing the technical and administrative complexities that hamper would-be affiliates. This, she believes, will help evolve affiliate marketing into a mainstream ubiquitous revenue model.

Alicia's ideal food adventure would be blue cheese & champagne in France, oysters in her Sydney home and paella in the Balearics. At the office, Alicia enjoys teaching the team unusual words like 'ruminate' and 'gesticulate' and she can't function without at least 50 Firefox tabs open at any given time!

Alicia is a seasoned industry speaker, and authority within content monetization. If you are a member of the media and would like to interview Alicia, or you would like Alicia to speak at your conference or to your organisation, please email press@skimlinks.com.

      Joe Stepniewski

      Chief Operating Officer

Joe co-founded Skimlinks with Alicia after joining the original Skimbit back in Feb 2008 (they are old friends from university in Sydney). Joe looks after business development, sales and marketing: growing and improving our publisher base and generally works with Alicia to lead the Skimlinks team.

Joe previously founded SiteRefinery, which acquires under-performing websites/domains and turns them around in terms of traffic, functionality and monetisation. He built up these three skills over years of running his own websites as an internet marketeer and affiliate. Prior to that Joe was Head of New Media at Finger Lickin' Records, an independent electronic music label, also worked at Cisco Systems both in EMEA and Asiapac (i.e. UK and Australia)

Joe's ultimate mashup would be made up of music, food and technology. He mixes a mean lychee martini, loves to start crafty ideas on the Internet and wants to be the new David Thompson. Joe was quite dubious of, but now recently very fond of Twitter.

      Jen Langdon

      Jen Langdon

      VP of Engineering

      @Jen_Langdon

With 8 years experience in the digital media and advertising world, Jen heads up the Skimlinks Engineering team. Her passion for iterative development, efficiency and automation make Jen a great asset to ensuring we build a world class platform and product suite.

Whilst studying economics at university, a part-time job in a small dev house gave her an appetite for software development. Starting her career as senior developer for the likes of Symbian, Jen moved into technical management. Prior to joining Skimlinks, Jen was VP Engineering and employee number 2 at OpenX before moving to the same role at ecommerce analytics start-up, Jirafe.

Outside of Skimlinks, having played representative rugby, Jen's truly obsessive about the sport. As parent to toddler twins, when she's not running around after them you'll find her in the kitchen tweaking recipes to ensure chilli can be included wherever possible!

      Richard Johnson

      Richard Johnson

      iCTO

      @rjohnsondev

Richard is another Australian import, recently moving away from sunny Brisbane to a climate more considerate to his complexion.

Previously working as Lead Developer for several years at Brightlabs, a leading Australian web agency, Richard has experience in a wide range of tech and is just as comfortable debugging browser rendering quirks as he is wiring up new servers in the data centre.

He passes the time on weekends writing open source file parsing libraries and reading books on cryptography. He also enjoys frequenting events of a live music variety as well as those of a comedic persuasion.

      Angus Bankes

      Angus Bankes

      Chief Information Officer

Angus Bankes was founder and CTO of Moreover Technologies where he was recognised in the industry as a leader in the area of XML. At Moreover, Angus was one of the main advocates and driving force for the mass adoption of RSS feeds.

In 2005 Moreover Technologies was acquired by Verisign (NASD: VRSN) where Angus ran the technology for both moreover.com and weblogs.com. He has now joined the Skimlinks team to cover the area of technology strategy and architecture.

Angus gives regular talks to publishers and enterprises on such topics as the future of internet publishing, new distribution methods, social media and OpenID and enjoys forcing his colleagues to watch videos of himself appearing on 90s TV quiz shows.

      Edward George

      Edward George

      Lead Engineer - Foundation

Joining Skimlinks to head up the platforms team, Edward came from onefinestay where he designed and built a service oriented platform to drive the expansion of the business. Prior to that he worked at WooMe, an online video startup, building scalable video and textual chat platforms for millions of online users.

Has a degree in Graphic Design from Nottingham Trent which became massively underused as he found himself gravitating more and more towards software development which he describes as being “far more creative”. Regardless, we're glad to have his interesting mix of skills on our team!

He still retains a love of design and typography, as well as various forms of electronic music which range from musique concrète to dance, his collection growing on a daily basis with each 12" record shaped parcel that arrives in the office. He has a large collection of synths and drum machines and can often be found lurking by the speakers in the depths of London's techno scene. A lover of all things wine and beer, his local London craft beer pub is a regular feature of his Foursquare check-ins.

      Karol Kowalski

      Karol Kowalski

      Lead Engineer - Frontend

      @karolk

Karol came to the UK from Katowice, Poland to be amongst the booming London tech scene. He studied at NKJO and has worked in many different aspects of front-end development.

Before coming to Skimlinks, he built web applications for cool brands like asos.com and 123-reg. On the side, Karol also consults entrepreneurs on online security.

After hours, Karol loves working on personal projects including a memorization app and a poker application. He also claims to live a double life as an opera singing student; we'll put that to the test at the next happy hour!

      Jon Spalding

      Jon Spalding

      Lead Engineer

      @spalders79

Jon is the Lead Engineer for the InvisibleHand team here at Skimlinks, which is responsible mainly for the Products API.

Jon had been with InvisibleHand for more than 3 years, having previously been a consultant for ThoughtWorks and worked in the publishing and healthcare industries. Jon has a wide range of experience from building high-availability webapps to writing low-level services.

Born and raised in Brighton, Jon now lives a quiet life in leafy Sussex and spends his spare time tinkering with his car or reluctantly attempting some home improvements. When the DIY is finished and his car is finally working, Jon likes to attend trackdays or catch an Arsenal game on TV.

      Tamás Szikszai

      Tamás Szikszai

      Senior Engineer

      @le_punk

As our Senior Software Engineer, Tamás has built all the prettiest bits of the Skimlinks interface, as well as numerous other products with his lightning fast coding skills. He's built tools for every part of the Skimlinks operation and is the only member of the team to insist on using the Opera web browser.

Before joining the team, Tamás built various sites back in Hungary and still surprises us with incredible weekend coding projects.

Arguably, he used to have the best dreadlocks in tech, Tamás also drinks enough Redbull to win a sponsorship deal and can solve a Rubik's cube faster than anyone we know.

      Ian Wilson

      Ian Wilson

Representative Director, Skimlinks KK. Senior AI Engineer

Ian has a dual role at Skimlinks; while he is spearheading the formation of the Japan office he also has a leading role in the development of the new SkimWords multilingual text mining engine.

Before joining Skimlinks, Ian founded Emotion AI, developing technology for emotional product ratings as well as producing Facebook and custom python applications. He has worked in Japan, Canada, the United States and England solving intractable customer problems with cutting edge AI based products. Some of these products include real time emotional animation systems, product recommendation systems, conversational web agents and agent based military training systems, making Skimlinks a great place to round out his experiences.

Ian received a degree in Artificial Intelligence after first spending eight years in industry / corporate management followed by founding his first startup. Ian, like many at Skimlinks, is bi-lingual (English and Japanese) and has also been a frequent speaker on the simulation of human emotional behavior and W3C invited expert for their Emotion XML working group.

      Stuart Quin

      Stuart Quin

      Senior Engineer

The first Northern Irish member of the team, Stuart hails from Belfast with an MA in Computer Science from Queens University. Formerly working in online gambling, Stuart's current adrenaline pumping thrill is working as one of Skimlinks' talented Software Engineers. Having worked in pretty much every one of our tech teams over the years, he is now helping us to establish the foundations for our new Data products. He's keen on PHP, properly written JS and all things web development-y, so he's found a welcoming home at Skimlinks.

When not going to Chelsea matches he can be found in the pub, at a club or gig. He's of the indie/electro persuasion so will be adding a different flavour to the already eclectic office playlist. Although commuting from West London, he's keen on being introduced to the bright lights and delights of East London.

      Imogen Wright

      Imogen Wright

      Software Engineer

Imogen joined us from Cape Town, after a stint as a developer for the Amazon Web Services sector of Amazon.com.

Born in game farm country in the Eastern Cape of South Africa, Imogen loves nothing better than a dose of big sky and silence. When not hunched over a keyboard, she straps on running shoes and pretends that Hampstead Heath is on the slopes of Table Mountain - and then immediately ruins the good work by indulging her obsession for chocolate.

With degrees in Theoretical Physics and Computer Science and an (embarrassingly) encyclopaedic knowledge of all things Tolkien and Joss Whedon, Imogen's the geekiest woman she knows and proud of it. And, while her playlists do include such upbeat artists as Pearl Jam, Leonard Cohen, Nirvana and Radiohead, she's still somehow annoyingly cheerful most of the time.

      Chris McDevitt

      Chris McDevitt

      Senior Engineer

Chris McDevitt joins us as a Senior Software Engineer, working hard to increase our user base by scaling and writing our new APIs. Before he was making Skimlinks better for our publishers, he worked in web development and back end systems in areas like medical imaging and company research.

While Chris began his education at Bristol University in Electronic Engineering, his interest in the amazing speed with which you can create things led him to shift his focus to software. This interest carries on beyond the Skimlinks office, as Chris likes to learn programming in new languages (most recently- Clojure).

When he's not coding away in Python he enjoys snowboarding and traveling outside the country when he can. Current obsessions include coffee brewing methods, growing chillies, photography and seeking out new music.

      Sasha Pryymak

      Sasha Pryymak

      Data Science Engineer

Oleksandr, or Sasha for his colleagues, joined us to make use of our big data. He analyzes our traffic to figure out how to make our products more user-focused.

Sasha brings research skills and industry knowledge to Team Skimlinks. In his PhD at the University of Southampton, he studied how large societies share information and how they should fight with false rumours. Now he faces an even larger number of users in our publisher networks and works on transferring the cutting-edge research to our problems.

Before that, he gained industrial skills by running a development team for 4 years with his friends in Kyiv, Ukraine, where he is originally from. He spends all his free time watching documentaries about nature, reading oceanography books and planning new expeditions to the depth of the seas.

      Steph Gosling

      Steph Gosling

      Senior Systems Administrator

Steph is responsible for our operations and infrastructure and makes sure that everything runs smoothly. He's a keen practitioner of DevOps and is the resident go-to man for all things Cloudy.

Before joining Skimlinks, Steph ran large infrastructure operations in the US and UK for Moreover technologies, and prior to that administered servers in the UK and continental Europe supporting clients in television, telecommunications and new media.

When not on the servers he can be found tinkering with Linux on mobile devices & marshalling street skates in London's active rollerskating scene.

      Jurg Schwalb

      Jurg Schwalb

      Systems Administrator

Jurg is another member of the team from sunny Cape Town, South Africa, and studied Electrical Engineering at UNISA. As a Systems Administrator, he ensures the continuous uptime of the skimfrastucture, as well as keeping the underlying technologies fresh and up to date.

Before joining Skimlinks, Jurg worked at Stone Three Venture Technology as a Systems Administrator, gaining a love and respect for all things Linux.

In his spare time he likes to see new places, have fun with friends, and play around with technology in new ways. He is a huge foodie who enjoys cooking and eating foods from the world over, and is currently going through a Polish phase.

      Ryan Conway

      Ryan Conway

      Senior DevOps Engineer

Originally from "God's Own County", aka Yorkshire, Ryan joined Skimlinks as part of the InvisibleHand team. He has a passion for automation and infrastructure, with an emphasis on ease-of-use, good failover and continuous deployment. When not pulling the strings of Puppet - a configuration management tool - he dabbles with Ruby and responsive web design.

In his spare time, Ryan can be found playing video and board games, watching Star Trek, out photographing, drinking good ale and watching more Star Trek.

      Rob Cowie

      Rob Cowie

      Software Engineer

Rob came to Skimlinks as a Software Engineer to work in the Platforms team. Before becoming a developer, Rob worked as an environmental Microbiologist after graduating from Warwick University with a Microbiology & Virology Degree.

Prior to Skimlinks, Rob worked for a variety of established and startup tech-focused companies as a back end and web developer. He's a python and JS guy and like most python devs, feels he ought to learn Go one of these days.

Rob was born and raised in Yorkshire and despite having spent many years "in exile down South" still regularly travels back to his roots where he enjoys hill walking and cricket. Wherever he is, he seeks out good beer, good coffee and good food.

      Cliff Xuan

      Cliff Xuan

      Software Engineer

Cliff is made in China and grew up near Mount Wudang, the Mecca for Taoists and internal martial arts. Cliff actually found western culture and religion more attractive, which led to him coming to study in London for an MSc in Internet Computing at Queen Mary back in 2003. Upon graduation, he joined ReportLab, one of the first companies to use Python in the UK. He then spent 6 years working on a distributed ticketing system for cinema chains, first with Arts Alliance Media then spun off as Newman Online.

At Skimlinks, Cliff works in the platform team, where he helps make a fast and accurate backend to empower our business. He occasionally joins business meetings whenever his Chinese language is found useful. Being an aspiring software craftsman, Cliff always strives to find the balance between dogmatism and pragmatism. Right now, he finds BDD natural and elegant for growing software.

Cliff's spare time is mostly spent with his young toddler son, patiently waiting for him to grow old enough to play PES together.

      Riccardo Vitale

      Riccardo Vitale

      Software Engineer

Riccardo joins us from Rome, where he completed his Computer Science degree last year. He has lived in London since 2011 working for Google before finding Skimlinks.

His experience is in text processing, Automated Speech Recognition and Text-to-Speech systems, with a side passion for Artificial Intelligence techniques. His experience and awesome ponytail make him a great addition to Team SkimWords.

When he's not busy building on SkimWords technology, you can often find him working on one of his side projects, playing video games or hanging with friends, or out at the pub. He also likes to watch movies & read comics, and as a hobby he makes some electronic devices, playing with the solder and transistors.

      Catherine Siviter

      Catherine Siviter

      Senior QA Engineer

Catherine is the newest addition to the QA team, having originally been a member of the Operations team. She enjoys getting to grips with all the new processes at Skimlinks and making them as perfect as possible. A mixologist at heart, Catherine seeks to combine the disparate chunks of tracking URLs during the day, while avoiding unrefined ingredients of a more liquid variety at night.

Hailing from London, Catherine is the only member of the cockney contingent at Skimlinks, although she usually manages to hide it well. She loves detective novels, classical literature, spaghetti westerns and theatre, amongst many other things.

      Neenu Ramakrishnan

      Neenu Ramakrishnan

      Senior QA Engineer

Neenu joins us from Kerala, South India as a QA Engineer. She loves to find bugs and automate test scripts.

Before moving to London, she was working as test analyst in India after completing her Engineering in Electronics and Communication.

Recently Neenu has been developing a passion for Android development. In her spare time she loves to test out her cooking skills on her husband, watch Bollywood movies and surf IMDB.com.

      Alasdair Ellis

      Alasdair Ellis

      Desktop Support Engineer

Ali joins the Skimlinks Ops team from a quiet village in the middle of nowhere where he never stopped dabbling in electronics. Upon graduating with a BA in History from the School of Oriental and African Studies in London, he continued his original interest in computing until a fortunate turn of events landed him an internship at Skimlinks.

Now a fully fledged Desktop Support Engineer, Ali supports our Systems Administrator in keeping the skimfrastructure moving, and assisting the rest of the team in any technical issue they may encounter (usually to do with our beloved printer, weebl).

Outside of work, Ali's passions are split between his continued appreciation of history (anything pre 19th century in Japan or China to be exact), gaming journalism and getting his head around programming (currently Python).

Always up for one of Skimlinks' regular LAN parties, he occasionally admits that there is a real world to explore and hopes to travel to Japan and China once again so he can lounge around in temples all day.

      Ben Ashford

      Ben Ashford

      Senior Engineer

Ben Ashford, or GNU Ben, is the resident Emacs user for the InvisibleHand team. He brings a vastly experienced mind to the table, often contributing heavily in architectural discussions and complex parts of the codebase, as well as having a keen eye for predicting edge-cases and pain-points in decisions before they happen.

Ben has previously worked for a variety of recognisable companies, including Accenture and probably somewhere else. In his spare time, nobody really knows what he does. Popular theories include returning to the mothership or entering cryostasis until the next working day.

      Matt Smith

      Matt Smith

      Software Engineer

Matt works on the InvisibleHand team at Skimlinks where, among other interesting bits and pieces, he maintains the system for automated product data repair.

Prior to that, he's worked on market tracking and arbitrage software at startups, built publishing systems and made lots of consumer facing web apps at agencies.

Matt likes esoteric programming languages, machine learning, hip-hop and dogs; he hopes to do more with these things in the future (we’re not sure what exactly, but we’re hoping it’ll be a dancing robot dog).

      Sam Rose

      Sam Rose

      Software Engineer

      @samwhoo

Born and educated in Wales, Sam is our first Welsh member of the family. He has keen interests in operating systems, snooker, and Richard Feynman. Primarily a Ruby programmer, in his spare time Sam enjoys learning and blogging about C and Assembler.

At Skimlinks, Sam is part of the InvisibleHand team that powers Skimlinks Select. Most of his work regards the back-end systems such as retailer feeds and making sure we aren't spending too much money on random services.

When not programming, Sam can usually be found playing some form of cue sport, reading, or watching House MD.

      Connor Shearwood

      Connor Shearwood

      Graduate Engineer

Connor came to Skimlinks to work on the Foundation team, helping maintain the backend systems that keep Skimlinks running. Whilst he prefers working in Python, he seems to spend a lot of time working in PHP. Prior to joining Skimlinks, he worked in charity fundraising.

Hailing from the heart of the Midlands, Connor is currently completing his final year of a degree in Computer Science at Kings College London. In his spare time, you will either find him in the V&A or half-way up a fell in the lake district. He is a voracious bibliophile, a lover of maps, clocks and tabletop roleplaying games.

      Carl Whittaker

      Carl Whittaker

      Frontend Engineer

      @carlmw

Carl joins Skimlinks as a Front-End Engineer. He started building websites when he was 15, learning what he could from view source. He soon cultivated a passion for eloquent code. Although he started his career as a backend developer, he quickly moved into front end development where he found a love for building well engineered user interfaces.

Carl loves board games, sci-fi, comic books and good coffee.

      Operations

      Matthieu Pivard

      Matthieu Pivard

      VP Platform & Operations

Matthieu's role as VP Platform & Operations means he is truly the backbone of the Skimlinks operation. From speccing new products, to managing the roadmap, keeping the payroll in order, to paying publisher commissions: he looks after it all.

Matthieu and Alicia met in Sydney, in a job interview. Alicia was going on a 6 week holiday and had a week to train someone to take over her job of running the entire ad management platform for Fairfax, one of Australia's largest online publishers. Matthieu stepped up to the plate, and not only learnt everything in a week, but by the time Alicia came back from holidays, found herself wonderfully redundant.

When Alicia heard that Matthieu was leaving Sydney to return to Europe, she snapped him up. He now runs Skimlinks, keeps everyone in line and religiously enjoys a Diet Fanta at 4pm every day. He also teaches the rest of the team about the magic of pivot (Pivard) tables, and manages to juggle the start-up life along with being a new dad to little 'SkimBaby'!

      Amy Robinson

      Amy Robinson

      Operations Manager

      @geneticdrifter

Amy has been a dedicated member of the Operations team since the early days and is extremely knowledgeable about everything Skim (including the latest SkimGossip). At work, she provides internal support for the Skimlinks team, wrestles with reconciliation, keeps an eye on the platform and tries to automate as much as she can.

During the weekends, Amy spends her time cycling around London in the search of industrial techno and experimental sounds and sights. You may also find her splashing around in London Fields Lido and making the most out of her recent move into a carnivorous lifestyle.

      Jamie Crews

      Jamie Crews

      Operations Manager

Jamie has made the move to join the fantastic Operations team to help make sure everything runs as smoothly as humanly possible. In some of his earlier years, Jamie was one of Skimlinks' Business Development Managers, and spent time as a sales & project manager at a multinational ERP and web design firm.

In his spare time Jamie dabbles in the world of domain names - catching, acquiring and selling them. He takes any opportunity to have a BBQ, enjoys playing tennis and was also a keen lacrosse player at Southampton university while gaining a Bsc in Economics. Like a boss.

      Eduardo Mignot

      Eduardo Mignot

      Operations Assistant

      @doudoumig

The latest recruit to the Operations team, Eduardo’s job here at Skimlinks is basically making sure everything runs smoothly.

After studying business administration and finance - the first in Barcelona and the second in Milan - Eduardo moved to London to work in investment banking. He quickly realised he was much more interested in startups and technology so he joined a startup accelerator in Paris, assisting with the launch of around 15 startups a year.

Half French, half Spanish, Eduardo makes the best out of both worlds: he loves good food, appreciates nice wine, has a knack for dancing, and loves a good party. He very much enjoys travelling and has done so quite extensively; but regardless of where he goes, he always makes sure to go back to Spain for his annual shot of Vitamin D.

      Ajay Pondicherry

      Product Director

      @ajaypond

Ajay left his hometown of Los Angeles to join Skimlinks London as Product Director, where he leads our product strategy.

After studying chemistry and spending a couple of years in research laboratories, he fell in love with the fast-paced consumer web world. Although his focus has been the management of business operations, he still sharpens his Python skills with quick reporting scripts, natural language parsing, and social media aggregation projects. As a result, he is teased for his overuse of the phrase "dive into the data".

He is usually outgoing, but loves to retreat into his headphones and listen to melancholy music or NPR podcasts while sipping copious amounts of green tea. He also enjoys cooking and does a poor job of keeping his food snobbery secret as evidenced by his tweeting and yelping.

      Robin Landy

      Robin Landy

Senior Product Manager and Head of API Licensing

Robin joined us following Skimlink's acquisition of InvisibleHand - which he founded and led for four years. He now works on leveraging InvisibleHand's price & product matching technology to enhance our existing product portfolio and launch new Skimlinks products - such as Skimlinks Select.

Robin also works on the licensing of the InvisibleHand API, enabling other companies to benefit from InvisibleHand's technology.

Before founding InvisibleHand, Robin led the team at an information architecture & usability consultancy. And prior to embarking on a career in tech, Robin pursued a more agricultural way of life working as a moderately unsuccessful chicken farmer.

      Hardip Kaur

      Hardip Kaur

      Associate Product Manager

      @hard1p

Hardip is one of the Skimlinks old-timers and has worked in pretty much every department going! Previously a Senior Account Manager and Customer Systems Analyst - she now uses her experiences within the Product team.

Before Skimlinks, Hardip studied a BSc in Computing at Portsmouth University

Hardip enjoys eating halloumi, ham sandwiches, sushi (in fact, all eating in general!), festivals, staying up all night, turning off the air-con and exploring London on her bike. Hardip wants to travel the world one day and has an awesome collection of hairy jackets.

      Ben Chisell

      Ben Chisell

      Senior Product Manager

Ben joins Skimlinks from eBay, where he spent 4 years in London and San Francisco improving the relevance and conversion of their search engine. Before that he was a management consultant so it's no surprise that he fell in love with the tech industry! He also knows a thing or two about planes, vectors and F1 cars, having studied aerospace engineering for 4 years at Cambridge.

As a Senior Product Manager, Ben is driving the creation of our new SkimWords engine and a bunch of new products that we can't tell you about yet. He is a strong champion of the end consumer, and from the steady stream of shopping deliveries to his desk, maybe he's a bit too comfortable thinking like them!

Ben is proudly from Liverpool, an avid supporter of Liverpool FC and a general sports fan. He likes travelling around to watch sport, and is very particular about his food (especially croissants) and beer. He's also a bit of a card shark so play poker with him at your peril.

      Neil Menday

      UI/UX Design Manager

      @neilmenday

Neil joins Skimlinks from several years in the financial sector, where he lead internal design & development teams through software design, brand re-development, mobile design, UI and interaction design. Previously Design Manager at Experian, Neil was aching to get back in to the start-up world, so jumped at the chance to join Skimlinks.

Neil loves Studio Ghibli animations (Howl’s Moving Castle is his favourite), anything with Robots in it, a good sturdy Ale, Scotch Whisky with no more than 2 chunks of ice, Sport and Music - as long as it’s ‘not-terrible’. He is a prolific Instagrammer, where most of his followers seem to share his love of architecture, scenery and old doorways.

Hailing from Durham with strong connections to London, Neil made the move down south in 2009 but regularly returns home to enjoy the clean air. He also loves to travel despite his completely rational fear of flying, and counts Japan, Cyprus and Denmark among his favourite locations.

After an MA in Global Media and Communications from the University of Warwick where she specialised in online communities, Alice joined Skimlinks as an intern with the Approvals Team, becoming the first point of contact for many of our publishers.

Thanks to her obsession with the internet, she successfully managed to wheedle herself into the marketing team and now dabbles in everything from social media to content marketing, event organising, and PR.

In her spare time, Alice can be found pursuing her love of culture by learning new languages (currently Japanese) travelling to places near and far, and indulging in global popular culture forms – from London exhibitions to American TV shows and Korean pop music.

      @Pedrocconceicao

Pedro initially joined Skimlinks to manage Approvals but quickly dazzled us with his vast knowledge of automation, customers and data to become a full-fledged Growth Marketing Analyst.

He originally hails from a fishing village in sunny Portugal and is a graduate of Maastricht University, in the Netherlands. He’s an explorer at heart - of places as well as ideas - and has worked in a number of different fields, including but not limited to: social impact in Portugal, consulting for an IT firm in India and human resources at a Chinese utilities company. He is now set on enjoying London for the foreseeable future.

In his free time, Pedro likes to spread the good word of Entrepreneurship (both commercial and social) to people near and far, having started a number of initiatives himself in a variety of locations. He’s addicted to Quora and will never say no to a good cup of coffee.

      Senior HR Manager

Sara joined us from Austria where she studied International Business. After a little stop over in St. Petersburg, Sara moved to London where she has been living now for almost 2 years. Before becoming Skimlinks' Team Development Manager, Sara recruited for Google.

Sara is responsible for bringing the best talent to Skimlinks, growing and developing team members and the team as a whole, and for keeping the Skimlinks spirit alive.

She is addicted of all things cultural - theatre, film festivals, art and exhibitions, and is a member of an art club that takes her to secret art locations to see surprise performances and talks with artists.

      Olivia Rowe

      Olivia Rowe

      Executive Assistant

Olivia - aka ‘Liv’ - joined the Skimlinks family as an Executive Assistant. Previously a right hand woman to our chairman Alex Hoye, she will now be assisting our very own Joe and Alicia.

Liv has been in the Shoreditch digital space for four years, working in a selection of supportive roles. She loves nothing more than planning a jolly good office party, and fortunately for us, she’s really good at it!

Outside of work, Liv is an avid sports nut: during the summer months she can be found gallivanting around a tennis court; in winter, she tends to ‘just’ stick to lacrosse (it’s sort of like hockey, but in the air). She also loves a spot of skiing, badminton, table tennis and Ultimate Frisbee.

      Lizzy Connor

      Lizzy Connor

      Candidate Developer

Lizzy is Skimlinks’ shiny new in-house recruiter, responsible for sourcing and hiring great new additions to the team. If you want to work for us, she’s your go-to girl!

After studying a BSc in Psychology and Sociology at Nottingham University, she worked for a small boutique recruitment agency where she was lucky enough to recruit for some of the worlds biggest brands. As their first member of staff, she grew to love startups and their unique work environment.

Now at Skimlinks, she spends her time speaking with awesome new people and hunting for the best talent in the industry to join the team from across the world.

When not at work, you’ll find her checking out bars in search of the world’s best mojito, eating Nandos, and watching the F1.

      Carly Wood

      Carly Wood

      Office Assistant

Carly joined the Skimfamily as Office Assistant, with the aim of maintaining a happy, harmonious and motivated team. Even though we made it hard for her - plunking an office move into her lap on her first day - she survived and is now happily settled in our new quarters.

Originally from Northumberland, Carly recently moved to East London and is enjoying exploring her new home. After graduating from Northumbria University in Newcastle, Carly travelled across South East Asia exploring 6 countries, hundreds of temples and enduring countless mosquito bites. She counts trekking in Myanmar as one of the many highlights of her trip. After a stint working in wedding coordination, Carly left the North to pursue a career in the big smoke.

Carly’s general interests revolve around eating and drinking so she’s found herself in good company at Skimlinks. She also enjoys going to see live music and is currently enthralled with the works of Khaled Hosseini.

      Finance

      Shaun Barron

      Shaun Barron

      Finance Director

Shaun joins Skimlinks as Finance Director with 16 years of experience in finance and online business. Prior to joining Skimlinks, Shaun was CFO of Gaming Media Group - an online poker and TV broadcast company - helping grow it from a loss making startup to a profitable business generating annual revenues of £12m. Shaun originally hails from Newcastle upon Tyne, but came to London to study Law at King's College and then forgot to leave.

As a father of two, Shaun doesn't have much spare time, but when he does, he enjoys all things geeky: sci-fi literature and movies, pub quizzes, online gaming and popular science books. Shaun particularly enjoys playing poker and his mantra is "I'd rather be lucky than good" - which is lucky, because he's not very good. He's also a big foodie and likes nothing more than trying to recreate his favourite restaurant meals at home with his ever growing collection of culinary gadgets.

She is our numbers gal and the invisible hand to make sure the office runs smoothly. An avid Formula One fan, Sofia loves traveling and going to F1 races. She lived in San Francisco for two and a half years but loves London the most.

She's addicted to Hello Kitty stationery and loves - really loves - gadgets and Nexus.

As our Graduate Accounts Assistant, she provides essential support to the finance team and helps with human resources, acting as a contact for enquiries within the company.

She loves to travel and is extremely passionate about Italy, particularly Rome where she did an exchange semester while in university. She’s a big foodie and grew up a complete sports geek: amongst others, she played basketball, tennis, and golf, and did quite a bit of dancing on the side.

When she’s not crunching numbers and patiently dealing with the rest of the team’s (sometimes silly) requests, Diana is out exploring new parts of London, watching as many movies as possible, pursuing her little-known passion for painting, and (occasionally) hitting the gym.

Among other things, Mark likes french music blogs, the two-foot high dinosaur that lives on his desk and pretending to train for triathlons. His favourite sandwich filling is Coronation Chicken.

Jeff holds a B.A. in Government from Harvard University. He has lived in Boston, NYC, SF, London, and Berlin. Ignoring social judgment, Jeff is known for popping a (generally short-lived) handstand in famous locations around the globe. We believe he learned this skill in his CrossFit class.

      Jenny Williams

      Jenny Williams

      Senior Merchant Manager

Jenny is a San Francisco native working in the London office and has shown her range of ability with Skimlinks, starting out managing Social Media before moving on to Business Development and now, she's focused on merchants as Merchant Manager.

A start-up junkie, Jenny previously worked for a health website in Boston while studying at Boston University and an independent natural pet food company in Los Angeles before leaping across the pond. She loves decorating her passport. If you ever want to know where to eat or what deal you can get, just ask Jenny. A lover of foreign language, food, and music, she has an affinity for Kpop (before Gangnam Style!), sushi, and playing various musical instruments. She's fluent in Chinese, English, and German, and is currently trying to learn Korean and Japanese. She fits in great with our ambitious crew, filling the rest of her free time dabbling in web design & badminton.

      Lisa Kam

      Lisa Kam

      Advertiser Coordinator

Lisa is our brand new (and much awaited) Advertiser Coordinator! A California native from sunny San Diego, Lisa graduated from the University of San Francisco with a degree in Advertising.

After spending some time working for a non-profit, she caught the start-up bug and eventually joined Skimlinks as part of the Merchant Team.

In her spare time, Lisa can be found cheering for the Chargers and Padres, not to mention the San Francisco Giants for whom she has a definite soft spot. She’s also a very skillful (or very lucky?) Cranium player, as whoever is partnered with her always wins. We can’t be sure, but we think the countless hours spent playing the game with her 7 brothers and sisters may have had something to do with it...
