Senate blocks Cybersecurity Act via Zdnet
The Cybersecurity Act of 2012 has been blocked by the senate, despite security concerns regarding state and corporate secrets. The bill included provisions such as granting legal immunity for companies that would adhere to cyber guidelines. Furthermore, Barack Obama was in strong support of the bill, citing the national and economic devastation that could occur as a result of cyber terrorism. Meanwhile, the ACLU celebrated the passage of the bill, calling it a victory.
Facebook has more than 83 million illegitimate accounts via BBC
Facebook has reported some numbers on its 995 million population, and to no one’s surprise, there were large amount of fake or duplicated accounts! According to the numbers, 4.3% of the accounts online were duplicates, meaning that someone was operating both their real account and another one that wasn’t theirs. This begs the question; are your friends really your friends? Or is it not Facebook-official?
